Our GP Payroll Services

Although we believe the list below to represent a comprehensive service, we recognise that some Practices may have some additional requirements. We would aim to accommodate such requirements at no extra cost.

New Client Setup

  • Input all appropriate data from your employee records. We can often use a backup disk or file export from your previous payroll system.
  • Reconciliation of your employee records to your Inland Revenue payments record. This ensures that we achieve an error-free transition onto our database.
  • Preparation of your Practice's Monthly Input Proforma. This lists all the elements of each employee's normal pay details, with empty columns for you to add any monthly amendments (overtime, cash adjustments, sickness/maternity absence etc.)

Monthly Provision of Reports

The following reports can be posted and/or emailed to the Practice and/or uploaded to the secure area of our website (from where they can be viewed, printed and saved to the Practice's PC - within moments of the Payrun being processed and for up to 12 months thereafter)

  • Customised payslips in various formats. These can also be emailed directly to individual employees
  • Payroll Summary Report detailing all the main elements of each employee's pay, from gross to net. A year-to-date summary can also be provided.
  • Inland Revenue remittance (P32)
  • NHS Pension Agency remittance (LP11, formerly GP1) and any Equitable Life or other Stakeholder Pension Scheme remittance, plus SD55 reports for any leavers.
  • Any reimbursement reports required by your Health Authority and/or PCT (including PS4) - in whatever format they demand! Quarterly and half-yearly summaries are also provided if required.
  • BACS proforma in the format required by your bank (e.g. NatWest Autopay, Barclays BOBS and Payflow, HSBC Telepay, Lloyds/TSB Telepay). By arrangement, we can issue these directly to the Practice's bank, so that payments are made directly into employee's bank accounts. We can also include non-payroll items on these BACS instructions - e.g. Partners drawings, PAYE/NI payments to the Inland Revenue, inter-account transfers.
  • P45 for any leavers, plus SD55 report if the leaver is in the NHS Pension Scheme
  • Any non-standard reports required by your Practice and/or PCT, e.g. Staff Costs Analysis, Budget Projection. We can also post to the Practice two-part security payslips.

Monthly Payroll Processing

  • Input of all amendments given on your Monthly Input Proforma
  • Updating standard employee details as required - i.e. hourly rates, tax codes, normal hours-per-week etc.
  • Backpay calculations, increment calculations etc.
  • Calculation of gross pay, all appropriate deductions and net pay
  • Calculation of all reimbursements due from GMS, MRC, PCT and any other budgets
  • SSP, SMP, Tax Credit, Student Loan, Attachment of Earnings and Payroll Giving administration

At Year-End

  • Preparation of P14/P60s for each employee, and P35 Employer's Annual Return
  • SD55 Reports for each member of the NHS Pension Scheme
  • Annual Reimbursement Summary (inc. PS4) for each budget appropriate to your Practice
